About

Hotel Pulitzer

Hotel Pulitzer is a 4-star property set on Viale Marconi, a busy road in Rome’s EUR district. Despite the description placing it 'in the heart of Rome', the hotel is around 6 km from central landmarks like Piazza Venezia. Its main asset is proximity to the metro – a station is just a short walk away, making it easy to reach the historic centre within 15–20 minutes. The hotel offers a range of amenities including a restaurant, bar, sun terrace, solarium and an outdoor hot tub. It's also pet-friendly, with dedicated pet amenities.

Guest reviews consistently mention the helpfulness of the staff and the quality of the breakfast buffet, which includes gluten-free and dairy-free options. Rooms are described as comfortable and clean, with some featuring balconies. The hotel operates a check-in window from 14:00 until 23:59 and a midday check-out, and parking is available on site. While the immediate neighbourhood can feel somewhat neglected, the convenience of the metro and the hotel’s value for money are recurrent themes among returning guests.

In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

3 reasons to book
  • Exceptional value for money — With rates starting from $79 per night and consistently positive feedback about the price-to-quality ratio, the hotel offers a strong proposition for budget-conscious travellers who don't want to sacrifice comfort.
  • Helpful and accommodating staff — Guests frequently highlight the reception team's efficiency and willingness to go out of their way, from making reservations at popular sites to arranging room swaps.
  • Generous breakfast with dietary options — The buffet breakfast is consistently described as varied, including gluten-free and dairy-free alternatives, making it a standout feature.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Located on a busy main road with traffic noise — The hotel sits on Viale Marconi, a busy thoroughfare, and several guests recommend requesting a room at the rear to mitigate the noise.
  • Neighbourhood feels less polished, especially at night — The immediate area around the hotel is not Rome’s finest – reviews note a somewhat neglected atmosphere and the presence of street workers, though guests generally feel safe.
  • Distance from major landmarks requires reliance on metro — While the metro is convenient, the hotel is a 15–20 minute ride from central attractions, and the location rating (7/10) reflects that it's not within walking distance of the historic centre.

“We left yesterday and really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was varied, with options for gluten and dairy allergies. Rooms were comfortable. The staff went out of their way to help, even securing walk-in reservations at the Borghese Gallery. Check-in and check-out were quick. The metro was a short walk away, and we could reach any part of Rome within 15–20 minutes. I'd recommend getting the Roma Pass online – it saved time and money, covering all public transport, and we picked it up at the airport terminal.”

“Great value for money. We had a superior double on the fourth floor at the rear of the building—a good choice given the heavy traffic noise on the main road. The room and bathroom were lovely and kept spotless by housekeeping. The hotel isn't huge and has a boutique feel. Reception staff were especially helpful. The buffet breakfast was excellent. The location works well because of the metro, and we also had a car for exploring further out.”

“Nice design, a spacious superior double, good bathroom, decent breakfast, a well-equipped gym, and free wi-fi that worked perfectly in the room.”
